I don’t feel uncomfortable masturbating, but it feels weird touching myself in other areas when the end goal isn’t to masturbate.

100% you’re not alone. Some exercises here I’ve tried and don’t quite understand either
I’m also struggling with it. I cannot focus on my sensation. I was advised that i should go back and focus on box breathing and meditation to be able to clear up my mind and stay in the present. I guess improving your fantasy is also necessary to be able to tackle with that exercise.
Same perspective here… just not connecting with the sensate aspect without a partner. Feels weird and awkward.
Solo senate was super awkward for me at first and my inner critic was bombarding with thoughts of failure and that I couldn’t even do sensate right, let alone gain an erection. I’ve stuck with it though (doing it every other day over lunch as I work from home). Now, I’m really able to enter my body during the exercise and feel sensations all around my body when I lightly touch a wrist for a few minutes. The sensations aren’t leading to arousal but I’m 15 minutes after another solo sensating session and feel tingling sensations every where I touched myself. My advice is to preserve and keep pushing through the awkwardness. You might not feel it yet but your mind and body are building connections

My advice is to preserve, keep pushing through the awkwardness, not judge yourself (which is hard), and give it time. You might not feel it yet but your mind and body are building connections
