Tensing butthole while doing Kegel

Any tips on how to relax butthole while doing Kegel exercises?
I feel like I either relax both butthole and pelvic muscles altogether or I contract all at the same time.

I think you are supposed to clench your butt hole when doing the Kegel

They go together, don’t they? But on the exercise tips it tells you to “make sure you relax your butthole”

Yes clenching your anus (butthole) is expected. The guidance is to avoid clenching your glutes (butt muscles). The glutes, are a different part of your anatomy than your anus, which is expected to clench.

This clarifies it. Thank you!

Do a quick reverse kegel.

Yes, I’m confused about this. I can easily do it if I also clench my butthole, but it’s much harder but still possible not doing that (I find easier not to clench butthole when sitting in a chair). If we can, should we avoid butthole?

Weirdly enough I’ve had this discussion with my dad, he recently had prostate surgery and can’t tense his kegel muscles without tensing his butt. I can, for me they’re separate. Be interesting to see if any experts can weigh in on this
