How do I know if my erection issues are physiological?

How do you guys know if your erection issues are physiological or psychological? I think mine are sometimes a bit of both. I’m mid 40’s, and have no problem getting an erection for masturbation (but it’s not always super hard) but when I’m with my girlfriend whom I am super attracted to, I get performance anxiety on penetration and it’s floppy (I overcame it twice by masturbating on her whilst kissing her). I read about some penis injection that works brilliantly and creates rock hard erections. I’m thinking of trying it to see how effective it is. I miss being in my 20’s with annoying rock hard erections (sometimes unsuccessfully willing them to go away on car trips for hours) - I took them for granted. Oh the irony!!

Semi same boat as you. 42 and miss the days of being annoyed by my erections. (Couldn’t ever wear boxers cause it was too much stimulation when I was younger lol). Pretty much same on erections and hardness. So going to go out on a limb and say if your getting hard and getting morning woods your physically fine. I was having the same problems with hardness. Doing the exercises on this app I feel like I’m getting bigger harder erections than I have been getting in the past. But I think I’m also taking more notice of them during this journey and also focusing on the times that they are big and hard and not sweating the times they arent. I think it was exactly opposite of what I have been doing before and focusing on smaller softer ones and becoming self fulfilling prophecies. When I’m getting big and hard I’m more like hell yeah and getting even harder versus not so hard and worrying about it and it just gets softer and smaller. Not sure how long you’ve been on here but maybe give it awhile before getting the injections and see if you can fix it more mentally and with some exercises. Good luck man! Hope this helps.

That’s awesome that you’ve had a lot of progress on the app, I’ve only been on here for a couple of weeks - but I also haven’t been super consistent. If you don’t mind me asking? What exercises did you find helped you the most? I will do some more exercises before trying the injections, thanks again

Want to ditto want teal-perch said. Should be fine. Sucks getting older and maybe not the same, but stock with the app. Do at least one exercise every day. I have and it’s made a huge difference.
I find the box breathing and just recognizing that it’s in my head through the mental exercises had really helped. Also knowing that you’re not alone. There are so many of us out there. Stick with it!

41 here and I fully understand what you’re saying and have experienced the same.
However after doing the pelvic floor exercises multiple times a week as well as the reverse keegle, my erections have become almost painfully hard, in a good way. But also stopped jerking off and stopped using porn. I used to jerk off up to 5 times a day so quitting was never my intention or goal. But it’s helped immensely.

Thanks guys for the further replies, I have been doing normal kegel’s for the past 2.5 weeks, and am slowly increasing my exercises on the mojo app. I’ve stopped all porn and don’t fap (only for my girlfriend). Last night I finally had a breakthrough which I think is a good start. I woke up at 4:30am with really hard morning wood. I just lay there and it stayed for 45 minutes, didn’t go down. I don’t think I’ve had morning wood like that for ages. I must be on the right track?

Thank you so much, I’m not giving up. My girlfriend says she wants me to penetrate her and come inside her (this drives me bonkers when she reminds me) but she says she’s patient and wants me to slowly work on it. Will keep doing the exercises.

I know my issues are only psycological because I went to two urologists and cardiologist to check if there are any medical issues… I also know that I struggle to get erection only if I am stressed (which is everytime I try to have anything close to sex with my gf because I lost my confindence in this area of my life when we started dating and it caused a lot of issues in our relationship) , and I still have morning erections and no problem to get hard whenever I masturbate if I am not stressed… so basicaly getting checked by a doctor or even psycologist could help you identify where is the problem.

Hey we are all together in this. I struggle for over 7 months and after 9 days of using this app I can already see that I am in much better place then before… it really got into my head and I felt really depressed for a few months now… however since I downloaded this app I finally see some hope and I am starting to understand how to fix this problem forever… its a really long time since I believed that I can fix this and I already see some results even when my relationship is in a really bad place because of this problem… but now when I see first results there is hope and I believe that we all can fix this… all uf us just need to clear our heads even if it is difficult to do. Get checked and you will know what to focus on. One important fact that you have to remember is that once you identify what is the problem for you there is no problem with erection that can not be solved.

Don’t let any doctor put a needle in your dick, man. Try diet and exercise and losing weight if overweight and doing therapy and mojo exercises first. How backwards our medical world is that people think that’s what needs to be done first.

I am definitely trying mojo, including the diet and exercise. Getting there slowly, I guess I just wanted to penetrate my GF once (even with the viagra or needle) as once I’ve done it once, it would be easier the next time if that makes sense? But yeah, working on it naturally for now.

I ended up buying viagra but I was convincing myself it’s a physical issue. Used that once or twice with great success but combing mojo with a better diet, more exercise and changing my mind about things seems to be working the best.

Reading that my porn habit as well as my reliance on my own grip and anxiety is likely the cause of my issues makes me happy that I finally understand, yet not happy about giving up porn and my hand….
But if it’ll help me be a more complete lover- I’m game!!
There’s nothing more frustrating than having a beautiful woman that loves you going down on you then poof- it’s gone….

It sounds like you have a very supportive girlfriend who cares about you. Keeping that in mind can really help your self confidence. Know that you must be doing great in the other aspects of the relationship and this is just one small part that needs extra attention.
