A relapse after success

I had really bad performance anxiety for about a year before i met my partner. I managed to over come it with her and i have had no issues while together. Then suddenly it came back during a stressful time and now it feels like it did before. I have very open communication with my partner and she is so supportive but it’s just tough to be struggling again.

Is this normal to have a relapse and any advice to get out of it again.

Yes I think it’s normal, the root causes like anxiety etc can come back up especially with a new partner. But I think you just gotta really keep at it and it can get better and better with time, don’t give up man!

Just re-read that it’s the same partner. But yes, can come back up I think. It’s great you have a supportive partner just lean into that and show her you’re working on it. It Probabaly helps that she knows you got through this before and it can get better!

Our mental health isn’t a linear path. We will have ups and downs. You have gotten over it before and have the tools to do it again. Just speak to your partner and keep them in the loop. There’s no shame in having a relapse, just recognising it is a step forward.
