Reverse kegels - inhale/exhale

For the reverse kegel exercises, the guide tells you to inhale when you “drop” your kegel and exhale when you rest. For me this feels unnatural and makes the exercise much harder. I feel more natural if I exhale when dropping and inhale when resting. Does it matter? Anyone else feel the same?

I don’t know whether or not it matters but I certainly am able to “drop” better when I inhale rather than exhale

What worked for me much better was inhale, then near the end of it, start pushing out my pelvic floor as I hold my breath, then relax as I exhale. And repeat. For the actual reverse kegel motion, it helps when I kind of flex my abs and subtly rock my hips up and towards my belly, if that makes sense.
