Reverse Kegel breathing

So did the reverse Kegel exercise today and noticed when bearing down I tend to hold my breath, am I meant to do that?

Hey, it makes sense since you’re probably engaging your lower abs when you do reverse kegels which affects your breathing. It likely doesn’t make a huge difference but I would recommend focusing on continuing to breathe throughout the exercise

Try “bearing down” on the in breath. Imagine your diaphragm is moving upwards as you breath in, and simultaneously push down and relax the pelvic floor. I imagine the whole “area” as a balloon and the breath in and me relaxing/pushing out is what expands it. Then, I focus on holding that push/relaxing without adding additional force as I slowly breath out. Then completely relax all your efforts at the end of the out breath. Then repeat. This seems to help me not hold my breath through the exercise
