Inner Critic using Mojo as weapon

My Inner Critic has been using the tools I’ve learned as ammo, like “see, no matter what you do it will not help you”, “you should quit because it’s not helping”, etc. now I get more anxious because I feel like if I do the steps in the program and it’s not working then I’m even more of a failure (yes I know it’s catastrophizing). Need some positive vibes to keep going!

I’m in the exact same boat as you. I’ve been telling myself to quit as well. I’ve been intimate with a woman I really like and I cannot keep my erection. But I stumbled upon this message and makes me think, “if he’s in the same boat and not quitting then I can’t quit either.” So let’s both just keep going and stop putting the pressure on ourselves. I made my inner critic a little whiney asshole (Cartman) and my inner coach a positive awesome dude (Goku). No fucking way he will lose from Cartman :stuck_out_tongue:

I know it might feel more difficult now you have been introduced to your inner critic - but it is a great step forward for all areas in life - self awareness. If you can try and remember that we have an inner critic to protect ourselves. It stops us getting into situations where we might feel embarrassed, awkward, anxious. It has often just become a bit too loud. Sometimes if you can say: I know you are only trying to help but we are going to try this another way, we are going to put a bit of work into this situation, to change things and begin to enjoy intimacy again. When you have any negative thoughts, notice them, you can say STOP in your head - the important bit is then to have some positive, erotic thoughts, affirmations ready to fill the gap. Keep practicing the meditations, even short ones, as this helps you practice when your mind wanders off to negative places. Good luck : )

Here’s a tip that worked for me:

Tilt your hip forward and position it in line with your core/body. When you do this you should notice an extension of your penis making it look even longer. Test your posture by tilting your hip backward and forward engaging your glutes without contracting them too much. Once you find the sweet spot (the optimal position of your hips) your erections should improve because of a better blood flow to your penis.
