Shy bladder and performance anxiety

I know it’s a weird one and might not seem relevant to the app. I didn’t think it was related at all but I’ve been speaking with the chatbot on here about it and I’ve realised that it might be connected.

I’ve struggled with Shy bladder (where you are unable to pee in public spaces due to feelings of judgement or anxiety etc) for a while now. It’s affected my confidence and I’ve never really understood why it happens to me. Similarly I’ve also been struggling with performance anxiety in the bedroom and premature ejaculation too.

I did start to wonder if it could all be related. It’s clearly a confidence issue or performance related issue. I wonder if fixing one might fix the other. I was wondering if anyone else on this app has also dealt with Shy Bladder too and found a connection between it and sex issues. Have you found a way to resolve shy bladder through your work on performance anxiety?

I also have both and I am suspecting that there are similar mechanisms that cause them, e.g. a tendency towards overthinking. For shy bladder I know there was a singular specific event in my teens that triggered it. That’s when I first got it and I have had it ever since. The ED was also triggered by a series of events, but this came in my early 30s, so much much later.

Unfortunately, I don’t think that fixing one will fix the other automatically. But techniques that help with performance anxiety might also help with shy bladder and vice versa.

By the way, there is surely a connection between pelvic floor disfunction to both issues, so the reason might be a complex interplay of psychological and physiological factors.
