Seeing a sex therapist

Have any of you ever considered seeing a sex therapist adjacent to this app? If so, what did you talk about and was it helpful?

I’ve tried a couple, although with my insurance situation I’ve only been able to pay for clinical interns so they are not yet fully
Licensed therapists, so maybe that’s why my experience was poor.

In my experience with them, it was really hard to get to the nitty gritty details of what I was going through. On here , it’s easy to go right into the details of talking about sex. But in therapy sessions it’s spread out over a week at a time and only so much time, and they want all sorts of general information about your life and with how serious my problems with sex are, I lost patience and didn’t feel like was getting any practical solution or advice on what I was experiencing, and actually barely was able to get into the details of erection issues, premature ejaculation, insecurity over my size, jealousy over my partner past sex experiences, etc. even if I was able to mention those things I never really got anywhere with a traditional sexual health counselor.

This path is perhaps much more effective and talking with others who are going through similar things. I’ll also say this-

I felt really desperate at a certain point and actually found some people on OnlyFans who will offer 1 on 1 zoom sessions. There are some people who are in the mindful and holistic health space and are very sex positive who are open to talking to men who experience these issues. It’s more of an unconventional approach but I’ve found someone who I can have very deep conversations and feel it has gone further than any traditional counselor when it comes to sex. I hope this helps. You aren’t alone!
