A 36 year old healthy male here. Been trying to quit porn and masturbation for quite some time now. I know that it’s unhealthy and messes up your mind but still whenever I get alone or get stressed I do it. It has caused problems before causing ED because of which I had left it for some time.
Have any of you completely quit it or in the process of quitting it. Any other suggestions to completely lose this bad habit. Appreciate any suggestions or advice in this regard. Thanks
I quit 90%… used to be daily. Sometimes multiple times.
Fortunately I have a wonderful gf to help me.
I now use mental images of her or stuff we’ve done to get off. Sometimes I use mental images of my fav porn scenes too.
As she jerked me off the other morning I actually fantasized I was being watched (i had taken over and she was watching me and encouraging me!)
Don’t get me wrong. I still enjoy some of my fav vids…
I think it’s all balance.
My bigger problem is my death grip….
Thanks, this has weakened me physically and mentally so need a way to get a way to get out. Cold turkey is difficult but will try to avoid as much as I can.
Also, I experience immense guilt and regret after the act. Not sure if this is common with everyone

I deleted everything I have, including sites and links. No other way to really avoid it.
Make it an effort to get to.

Why so guilty?
No different than eating ice cream. It’s ok as a treat once in a while…. This morning I woke up with a semi which very is rare. Next thing you know I was hard AF. What the hell. No pills. No foreplay. No silicone ring. No porn!! Just visions of my gf and stuff we’ve done and pleasures we’ve had!
No guilt here- I just proved to myself I can still do it without all the crutches I’ve been using for years!
Good luck man!!!

Look up the Easypeasy method for quitting. There’s a free download of the PDF you can read and I think it’s even available as an audio book on YouTube or Spotify. Lots of people have quit using this.

You have to remove what triggers you to watch it. For me it was social media. I would see a hot girl on there, then watch porn. Quitting social media was hard, but it significantly helped me. I also got a girlfriend and made it a rule that if I was horny, I did stuff with her. Not with my phone. I’m almost a year clean from watching porn. Sometimes I read porn, which I’ve heard is bad too, but regardless, I know it’s better than watching. I’m almost 12 months completely clean from watching porn and I’m proud of that.

We’ve been thinking of building a tracker to help people thinking about quitting porn a way to see their progress over time. Would you find this useful?

Excellent idea abilty to look back reflect etc crucial could be very positive if even small steps are viewed on screen
Yes definitely useful and will be interested to join if such a tracker exists
