COVID-19 vaccine

Does the Covid-19 Vaccine cause erection problems?

Interesting question there - overall, it’s hard to know what kinds of long-term effects are possible with COVID vaccines, as evidence is limited and studies are still being performed in this area. However, the following is known:

  • Vaccines historically have not been known to cause erection problems, both short-term and long-term.

  • In terms of COVID-19, early data suggests that there could be a link between infection with COVID-19 and erection problems, which makes sense if you consider the damage that infection can cause to blood vessels. However, it’s important to remember that these are short-term studies, and we will get a clearer picture of whether this is a long-term physical cause of erection issues with time.

  • We know that COVID-19 vaccines importantly reduce the risk of serious illness from COVID-19 (needing to be hospitalised for example), but also do reduce the risk of infection at all. So it follows that getting vaccinated reduces the risk of getting COVID-19 infection-related erection issues.

I hope this helps to answer your question, but it is an evolving space that is being actively studied as we speak!
