The counting really helped with a focus point for my meditation
I felt the counts were too long so adjusted to 4-6-7. Not sure I liked this technique as much.
I definitely feel more grounded in the here and now, and overall more calm.
It’s hard to keep accurate timing, but I think I did better than last time. However, no effect on heart rate (5 minutes selected). Is anyone noticing a reduction in heart rate?
I felt slightly calmer. Although I had a hard time keeping track of all the counting. I sort of wished they had counted along like with a box breathing so I didn’t have to think about counting and just go with the flow
It took a while before I realised he wasn’t going to count along for me, but once I got going I found it very easy to keep the timing. It wasn’t perfect but it didn’t need to be. I knew if I exhaled for 9 seconds rather than 8 it would still have the exact same effect.
I feel really heavy and slow but in a good way. I’m more measured, less erratic. I feel more connected to the world and I can perceive what is important to do in my time and what is not. (Eg scrolling Instagram Vs taking a shower before bed)
I feel heavy and calm. More focused and mind racing less
Super chilled.
So calm, ready, and zen I do feel
That was actually relaxing didn’t expect it to work. Headphones definitely helped
I’ve done lots of breathing exercises before. This isn’t much different. It’s tough to try this when the mood strikes.
How is this supposed to help in the moment?
To be honest the extended counting is counter productive, I wasn’t in sync so I was then flustered by the instructions, I fought it and stayed in my rythm
Agreed!
I’m not sure it’s a tool for use in the moment necessarily - this is a technique I use (I’m a Breathwork practitioner) to help people regulate their nervous system - doing it regularly can help your nervous system respond & shift states more easily in general. So it can help in the moment indirectly because your nervous system will overall be more regulated & better at staying calmer.
I have never done that one before. I liked it. It definitely makes one more calm.
I feel calmer. Like I feel more.
Very good for clearing the mind. I had no thoughts at all that I was aware of. Which is very rare!
It was frightening at first where I got that drowning feeling but then I started to roll mt shoulders up around from the front to the back and then everything just started working
That, like most meditations, got me very calm. I enjoy meditating but didn’t know how good that would be
