Are you a fixer or a listener? Mix of both?

Use this knowledge to fuel your active listening drill.

Both sometimes, I could listen better. Try not to put my experience into the conversation.

Tend to want to help fix

I have learned to become a better listener & resist the temptation to just fix

I try to fix too quickly, so I try to listen actively as much as I can.

I can be a great listener, and ask empathic questions with no judgement to better understand where they’re coming from.

I’ve forced myself into listening possibly too far, to the point of not trying to actually help sometimes.

In the past I would say I was more of a fixer, but as my continued growth and education expands, I am trying to be a better listener and not offer solutions to problems unless asked for now. It has been hard at times, to untrain and unlearn behaviors, but I feel like I am getting a better understanding of what is required of me, and that I don’t need to have all of the answers to fix anyone else.
