Kegels - Am I doing them right?

I’m curious on kegels. I seem to have mastered the art of reverse kegels but with actual seated kegels, I can’t seem to hold my kegel for more than a second or half a second. Is this normal? The app counts reps of squeezing, does this mean each time I squeeze is one rep?

The app lets you squeeze for up to 10 seconds. If you can’t hold it for 10 seconds, then you need training to be able to.

Be careful not to get a painful or overactive pelvic floor though. Think about if kegels actually help you.

I shared my thoughts on this earlier on this forum. If you’re an anxious person and naturally get tensed up a lot during the day, what you actually want is learn how to relax your body, including the pelvic floor.
