Ive often wondered if porn caused Ed. Ive done allot of research in this and it seems to say everywhere that porn has no link to ED. I don’t believe what they say I personally think that porn does affect your ability to get hard in intimate situations. I’ve currently been on a porn purge to discover if the research is factual or not. It’s been almost a month since I’ve stopped watching porn entirely. I’d like to hear some of your thoughts on this topic. Do you guys believe that porn can be linked to ED or not?
Yes, 100% it can cause ED. It did with me. But to a greater extent, because it causes ED the flow on affect is PA as well. Does it cause ED in everybody? I don’t think it does, but definitly there are those of us who it does affect
Hey there,
Yes, I reckon porn does cause psychological ED and PA
I recently went to a massage parlour, and the lady got straight to work with a hand job.
It was so overwhelming that I couldn’t rise to the occasion.
I think that porn conditions the brain to respond in a certain way, and to be aroused only at certain things. If you think about it, arousal takes a lot of energy from the body; our brain is going to want to ration how often it happens, and reserve resources for when it’s the ‘right time’. If we train the brain wrongly into thinking that the ‘right time’ is when we’re watching porn, then in the absence of that stimulus (i.e. when we’re actually with a partner) it might put us into ‘safe mode’ because it doesn’t think arousal is necessary right now.
Basically it desensitizes our arousal response. You can’t treat your junk like your own personal entertainment system and then expect it to perform on demand. You need to retrain the brain into being aroused by a real, living person. Preferably your own partner
I started watching porn when I was 8, and I can say that since then there wasn’t a day when I wasn’t trying to access porn up until now. Do I believe I am addicted? I do. Do I think about it constantly? absolutely. Is it increasingly hard to quick, definitely. I’m 35 days into a fast from porn, and already I can say the feelings of anxiety i had have greatly subsided. Working out used to be a chore, now it’s something I feel compelled to do, I believe it’s built up tension. I’m also a lot more irritable,
The million dollar question I had to ask myself, is am I happier without porn? I’m grateful I’m not wasting time gooning. I feel compelled to get tasks done that used to stop me in my tracks. I feel Better without it, and this time I’m gonna stay at it.
Same am 27, porn wracked my life, am on week in , how’s your journey going ?, will it restore my sexual arousal towards real girls, my worried that am going to be like this forever been on porn like 15 years, any advice? Thanks
I’m 41 days in, and I feel absolutely amazing. Although I’m not single, I can relate to the arousal towards women. Around my 3rd wk in is when the irritability kicked in.
The bad: I was extremely built up with tension from a lack of release, and it felt like every woman with a fat ass and big titties suddenly became all I hyper focused on.
The good: that same tension became the catalyst of me working out literally at random points in the day just to subside the new built up energy. It also made the things that used to give me anxiety something I could do without any issue whatsoever. Also, it felt like every woman with a fat ass and big ass titties suddenly became all I hyper focused on. lol.
Basically, what I found is that when you remove the source that is constantly overstimulating you, your brain finds a new way to try and find that same stimulation in the real world. Just keep at it, I’m not even that far ahead of you in my journey and I can tell you that it’s absolutely worth it.
Hey man, I strongly suggest reading the EasyPeasy method online, its about porn, how to and why to quit it. I am off porn completely now, have been waching it since I was 9 and I am 21 now. Take a look at it, read it thoroughly, it has been a blessing. Take care brother
There is no definite answer to this question. The science is mostly solid but I think one has to be careful in the interpretation. The fact that porn by itself does not necessarily cause ED is pretty much true, I believe.
Porn can probably impact ED in some way, but the mechanisms seem to be just too complex to assert a direct causal link.
This fact is pretty self evident, when you consider that many people who do watch porn regularly have no problems with ED. I severely improved my ED in the past months despite watching porn now and then.
On the other hand, I found that restricting porn and masturbation in certain ways seemed to improve my ED and sex life overall.
You just have to see what works for yourself, but discovering that is not easy, unfortunately.
