Is poor urine flow an indication of pelvic floor issues?

I realise this may not be something that most people can probably answer with any degree of certainty, but thought I’d ask anyway. Basically, I’ve noticed when being in a public toilet, you can hear some guys have a really high flow rate. Mine isn’t terrible, but nothing like there’s so I wondered if this maybe was a sign of a weak pelvic floor or something. I also have an elongated foreskin that is a bit tight when pulled back which makes aiming more difficult so I will often just sit down rather than stand. I’m wondering whether having done this for years has potentially led to underdeveloped pelvic floor muscles. I’m basically looking for a bit more evidence of what my issue might be as I struggle a bit with motivation when just doing things without knowing they’re really helping the issue.

I’ve been mulling over this myself. I remember at one point getting it into my head that I should practice starting and stopping at the urinal. It ended up helping for some time but I wasn’t sure if that was a healthy practice. I started it up again and had my first erection that stayed long after ejaculation in some time.

I think the start stop thing is essentially the kegels action. From what I gather, start stop can help build up the muscles but it’s not really recommended to hold the stop for too long. I just don’t know if the weaker flow is in anyway related to it.

Poor urine flow can be several things.
**all men are not created equal! Some have bigger equipment and a larger urethra. Thats why it sounds like a fire hose!!

If your urine flow is less than it used to be- I’d suggest seeing a urologist.

Kegals do control the stop and start of urine.
It’s supposed to be good to exercise them without actually peeing as that can cause an issue if done in excess (during urination…)
Reverse kagels are good to practice too. (Trying to push urine and poop ) it stretches the pelvic floor.

Both are regular exercises this app used to suggest and are generally considered good for erection health.

It’s not any less than normal. I was just really looking to know if it was an indication of a weak pelvic floor or if its just a case of it is what it is.

Poor urine flow might be cause of Hypertonic Pelvic floor which means pelvic muscles are too tight, do NOT do kegels. I have chronic pain from kegels look into Chronic Pelvic Floor Dysfunction - you probably dont have chronic tightness but your muscles might be just a little tight. Sitting down helps, reverse kegels help, stretching, meditation and other relaxation techniques help. Emm regarding foreskin have you tried not pulling it back so it doesnt feel tight at all?

Pushing out poop is not a reverse kegel and its not relaxing the pelvic floor like someone in the comment said… you need to let it flow on its own, when doing number 1 or number 2 on the toilet - NEVER push. Kegels make erections stronger but also can cause your pelvic floor to be too tight… too much tightness leads to soreness and teaches your body to be always tight. I hope you read my comment as some of the other ones i read on here are uneducated. I dealt with tight pelvic floor muscles for long and firstly you eant to get rid of tightness before strengthening your pelvic floor. Bad flow of urine is simply your body doing a kegel on its own. You need to relax and let it go, never force pee or poo out. Naturally it should go on its own. Pushing just makes things worse. Breath like when you breath during meditation.

Poor was maybe the wrong term to use. Maybe just lower flow might have been better, as it’s just less than others, but not significantly so.

As for the foreskin thing, the extended part is the tight part so it’s not really tight on anything unless I do pull it back. I spoke to a doctor about it ages ago and he just suggested pulling it back to stretch it, but it hasn’t really changed. I’m not really worried about it, but it’s just a bit of an inconvenience when aiming standing up.
